Strengthening Tribal Public Health Infrastructure for Improved Health Outcomes project –STPHI-HOP is funded by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The project goal is to systematically increase performance management capacity of Tribal health Departments in Montana and Wyoming in order to ensure Tribal Health Departments have access to resources needed to express their public health authority.
MT-WY TLC/RMTEC will continue to implement the NPHPSP and MAPP process among Montana and Wyoming Tribes, strengthening their public health infrastructure for improved health outcomes through Performance Management; Policy and Workforce Development; Public health System Development and encouraging Best Practices Implementation. The NPHPSP will be the Tribal Health Department specific performance and impact indicator of the successful implementation of the strengthening public health infrastructure for improved health outcomes project. RMTEC will work closely with Montana and Wyoming Tribes to develop and implement Tribal specific strategic plan towards the goal of obtaining Public Health Accreditation; Develop a work plan based on community needs, health data and prioritize prevention and wellness issues.
Strengthening Tribal Public Health Infrastructure for Improved Health Outcomes is designed to support innovative changes in key areas that improve the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of the Tribal public health infrastructure that will support the delivery of Tribal health services and programs. The Strengthening Tribal Public Health Infrastructure for Improved Health Outcomes project will encourage Tribal improvement of the quality of services delivered by Tribal Health Agencies/Departments as they work toward accreditation and ensure that Tribal Health Agencies/Departments are at optimal performance for public health accreditation. This is a Tribal self sustaining project.
